I don't know that they've fixed the problem of the toe rubber coming off. I started a brand new pair this spring, walking about 9 miles a day, and it didn't take long before the rubber came unglued. The bottoms wear rather quickly also. Unfortunately I will continue to order these, because I know they will fit comfortably. I rate them a 3 because they are just okay...not terrible, not great. You'd think that since they make us wear "their" shoes, they make them last a little longer.

I don't think I had these two months when the inside seams started coming undone & the toe also. For the amount of money we are charged for 'postal' shoes is outrageous, you would think that you these shoes would at least last a year or longer. I have mostly a walking route & believe me, these shoes would be better off in the dumpster. These are on my 'DON'T BUY' list.

For what we do its the best shoe out there. It used to come unglued at the toe but this Converse fixed it and this is the shoe i buy for the last three years.Very comfortable and padded well.

I have been buying these for a couple years. The sole's front up on the toe used to come unglued on the older ones, but Converse seems to have fixed this. Also, the older ones tended to come apart where the lacing panels joined the front of the shoe long before the sole wore out. The last pair I ordered were somewhat redesigned. If you've never owned a pair you won't notice the difference. Much of this seems to be around the area in front of the laces which generally was the first thing to fail on mine. Unfortunately, (for me at least) I have to try going up a size as the new shoes seem to be smaller in the toe area. I could only wear them for a couple hours on the street before I had to go back to my old shoes. This was the first time I EVER had to try to break in a sneaker. After doing this for a month, I realized that they won't break in. Don't get me wrong, I really like the Converse Cross Trainers when they fit well. They have good support and padding without being too heavy. My feet stay cooler, the shoes don't stink up the back hall of my home in the evening, and they have been the best overall that I've worn in 11 years in the PO. Just be advised- if you order your normal shoe size and these feel tight across the top-front of your feet and toes, don't wear them outside. Exchange them for the next size up. (Brands I've worn: Rocky, Thorogood, New Balance. I wish NB would do a cross trainer- their non-postal sneakers are excellent.)
