These shoes are comfortable but the heel life is very short. I purchased these boots in April, wore them during the rain and by the time the winter was here the heels were demolished sooo bad that I resorted back to the pair I had before these. Definietely not worth the price!

I would rate these boots at less than zero. I misguidedly purchased three pair of these short-lived clunkers and every pair started to lose their heel surface within two weeks! There are hollow spaces in the heels and they would entrap rocks and nuts and whatever in them. They didn't last long enough to test in the rain, so I wouldn't hazard an opinion to their waterproof capabilities. I would recommend, however, that you pick another boot for your walking route.

Don't waste your time. Fairly comfortable, yes. Other than that, the soles wear down quickly. Wearing thin in just 3 months (although I do walk over 10 miles a day) and never stopped any water, even in a light rain, nevermind a downpour. Terrible waste of a third of my allowance.

All good, so far...

These are comfortable, have a great fit, and are as rainproof as I could ask for. I've only had them a week and everyone (other reviews) seems to be complaining about the life of them, so I can't really speak on that other than that the tread is rather pretty shallow so I can imagine them wearing soon. That is the only reason I gave them a 4 star, make a better tread Timberland and I'll give it a 5.
